Tracks By This Artist
James Goodman was involved in music from an early age, and his interest in composition began the day his father showed him how to use his 4 track tape recorder. From that time, James would spend hours each day at the piano, recording and singing, and this passion continues to the present day.
James received his first commission after operating the sound desk for a shopping channel. Uninspired by the selection of music they were licenced to play, James started writing his own underscores and playing them out during the live shows. Now based in London, James continues to mix live sound for television, and produces music from home.
Stylistically, James is comfortable writing in many different genres and can create pastiches ranging from renaissance to rock. Naturally leaning towards pop, rock and house, James draws on his experience as a pianist, drummer and singer to form a collection well suited to a range of applications which should appeal to a wide audience.
As a singer, James has performed on more than a dozen recordings (Hyperian, Decca, Argo) and been featured on radio and television as treble and soloist with The Kings Consort, The Winchester Catheral Choir, and the Berkshire Youth Choir. As a percussionist, James has performed with the Reading Youth Orchestra aswell as a local jazz ensemble, and performances have taken him as far as Brazil, Italy and France, and UK venues including The Royal Albert Hall and the Barbican. James has also played keyboards with a disco function band and fronted a rock covers band.
James studied music at Southampton University where he acheived a 1st in commercial composition under the instruction of Pete Thomas. He went on to gain an advanced diploma in audio engineering at Alchemea College, London.
