Jez Clover

Producer / Engineer/ Programmer/ Remixer / DJ

Introducing Jez Clover, the London based producer, writer, remixer, engineer and all round studio talent. Bringing variety, originality and a magic touch, Jez's music specializes in House & Club music although has recently produced some chill out tracks that will be online early in 2007.

Jez’s showreel is a blend of some great house tracks that highlight his ear for dance music as well as showing an ability to produce and arrange at a exceedingly high level.

Jez's music aspirations were captured early on by the the UK rave scene. Having volunteered to help in his sixth form music facility, Jez was by chance introduced to an Atari computer running an early version of Cubase, a Moog monosynth, an Akai sampler and a GM sound module. Whilst his contemporary's used the software to rearrange string scores, Jez began sampling his record collection, coaxing growling bases from the Moog and filling the practice rooms with 4/4 kick drums. Discovering computer aided music production and sound engineering at the same time lit the fuse that was to propel Jez toward London, in search of a career in music. Arriving in London to study at South Bank university, Jez began to put a home studio together and got his first break - a job working at the SU nightclub under the watchful eye of Ministry of Sound engineer, Nick Clarke. South Bank boasts one of the biggest SU nightclubs in London, and it was here Jez began cutting his teeth as a sound engineer with bands and artists from rock to hip hop, live Drum & Bass to Bangra, and DJing alongside guests such as Grahame Gold, Lisa Lashes, Alex P and Brandon Block. After graduating, Jez studied Sound Engineering and music production, delving into Pro Tools and Logic, before putting together the studio he now works out of.

After completing the course, Jez started to freelance, and found a job as an assistant Pro Tools programmer at the Cider House Studios, France, writing backing tracks for singers and songwriters such as Freddy Litwiniuk and Rose Reiter. After gaining experience and status as an engineer, Jez returned to the UK and began working as a producer and engineer for Atomic Studios, London, and for the last few years has been establishing himself as one of the rising producers and DJs in the electronic scene.

From the turn of the Millennium, Jez has graced the decks at Ministry of Sound, Heaven and Club Colloseum, produced tracks that have received airplay on Radio 1 DJ Pete Tongs Essential selection, and been involved in some of London's most up and coming record labels.

Currently splitting his time between freelance Pro Tools and Logic programming, DJing, A&R and writing. Definitely one to watch
